HOW TO HELP

VOLUNTEER WITH US

When you volunteer at Mission Animal Hospital, you are integral to the process of keeping families and their four-legged loved ones together.  Whether you are cleaning surgical instruments, sorting donations, or wiping down treatment rooms, your generous contribution of time allows our staff to see more patients and care for more pets. In hospital volunteers must fill out an application and go through a short virtual interview. This helps both volunteers and the manager to know if volunteering at Mission is the right fit. In hospital volunteers will then attend a three hour training shift before volunteering independently.

We invite adults and youth 16 and up to volunteer individually or in small groups. Youth, ages 14-15, may volunteer alongside a parent or guardian in the Hospital Support Volunteer position. Event Volunteers may or may not have age restrictions based on the event type.   • Where is the event?
    The event is located at the beautifully renovated Metropolitan Ballroom just minutes West of downtown Minneapolis, on the Northwest corner of 169 and 394. Metropolitan Ballroom 5418 Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley
  • Where do I park?
    There is ample free parking available on site!
  • Is there food provided?
    Yes, there will be a seated meal plus appetizers. Vegan/vegetarian, gluten free, and nut-free options will be available upon request with your ticket. ​ Choose from the following meal options with your ticket: SHORT RIB OF BEEF: Balsamic Glaze, Parmesan Risotto, Brussel Sprouts (GF) CAULIFLOWER STEAK: Red Quinoa, Cilantro Pesto, Coconut Cauliflower Puree, Chili Oil (GF, DF, VV) SALMON: Creme Fraiche Yukon Gold Potato Puree, Herb Pesto, Shaved Asparagus-Arugula Salad (GF)
  • Is my pet invited too?
    While there will be dogs and cats at the event, please leave your own pet at home for the evening.
  • What is the dress code?
    Festive cocktail attire is encouraged.

    5:00 pm—Exclusive VIP Happy Hour VIPs receive first peak at the silent auction Hear directly from Mission Executive Director Dr. Susan Miller Extra time to pet, hold, and play in our Puppy and Kitten Play Room 5:30 pm—Yappy Hour Begins! Enjoy a complementary celebratory glass of champaign.   • Is my ticket tax deductible?
    Yes. Mission Animal Hospital is a 501c3 nonprofit recognized by the IRS. Your ticket is tax deductible above the fair market value of your ticket. The Fair Market Value of a general admission ticket is $100, the Fair Market Value of a VIP ticket is $150. Mission Animal Hospital's Federal Tax ID Number is: 47-2606680. By supporting Mission Animal Hospital, you're helping make an important difference in the lives of families with pets. Pets are part of our family, and deserve quality compassionate care, regardless of a family's financial circumstance. Your support will help provide critical veterinary care to more than 25,000 pets and their families this year. With your help, Mission Animal Hospital will be able to provide subsidized care, and make necessary it possible for families to keep their beloved fur family where it belongs — at home. A $250 General Admission Ticket helps one Mission Program client access the care their pet needs. A $400 VIP Ticket subsidizes an urgent care physical exam for 12 pets. A $2500 Premium Table for ten provides 40 spay or neuter surgeries and prevent 1,200 unwanted cats and dogs A $4000 VIP Table provides emergency life-saving procedures for up to 6 pets Your ticket purchase and donation will make a huge impact on pets and people! Our research shows that for every $1 contributed to Mission Animal Hospital, your donation will have a projected $4.64 in social value, generated through improved health and quality of life for the pet owner.
  • Who are the pets featured in the event invitation and website?
    The artistic drawings featured in the "Raise the Woof" 2024 logo are drawings of pets who were especially meaningful to two of our supporters. Trudie belongs to Marlys Badzin and her family. Marlys understand the value of pets in a family, and Trudie truly is part of her family. Scooter is one of three cats that make their home with Susan Rohde. Scooter has had his own medical situations, and underwent abdominal surgery where the surgeon replaces the tubes between his bladder and each kidney. His mom and two sister cats are grateful he was able to get the care he needed. Mission Animal Hospital commissioned Argentinian-American illustrator and artist Violeta Rotstein to create Trudie and Scooter's portraits. See more of her work at: www.violetarotstein.com
