How to refer a client to Mission Animal Hospital

 

Urgent Care and Same-Day Surgery Service

• What your clients can expect:

  • We are open for Urgent Care 8:00am-5:30pm every day of the week. We begin accepting patients to our Urgent Care list on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes prior to hospital opening. It is most beneficial to arrive as early as possible, as this service tends to reach capacity daily.
     

  • Patients are self-triaged upon check-in and assigned a presentation time. Critical patients are seen first.
     

  • Clients can opt to wait off site if the wait time is predicted to be extensive, and can maintain their place in line as long as they stay within 30 minutes of our location. 
     

• To refer a patient to Mission’s Urgent Care: 

1. Email records and radiographs to info@missionah.org 

2. Call our direct referral line to confirm availability and brief our team on your case: 952-938-1237 (option 5). 
    

• When not to refer clients to Mission’s Urgent Care: 

  • If it is after our regular business hours or we are at patient capacity for the day, please refer your patient to the nearest emergency clinic. 

 

Advanced Surgery Practice (ASP)

Our board-certified staff surgeon and specialty surgery team offer a wide range of complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures in a dedicated surgical wing. The Advanced Surgery Practice manages cases through diagnostic workup, surgical and medical treatments, as well as post-operative recovery. 

 

• We currently accept direct referral of TPLOs, some fractures, and a variety of soft tissue cases. Direct referral allows for expedited scheduling with ASP, without first establishing care with Mission Animal Hospital. 

  • Clients may be candidates for direct referral if their pet has been diagnosed with a condition and has supporting exam findings and relevant diagnostics (e.g., radiographs, ultrasound, cytology, etc.).
     

  • To refer a patient to Mission’s Advanced Surgery Practice: 

    1. Email records and radiographs to ASP@missionah.org

    2. Have the client call our Advanced Surgery Practice directly at 952-938-1237 (option 6) to discuss the case, and if appropriate, for an estimate and to coordinate scheduling.

    3. If a case is unable to be transferred directly to ASP, we will communicate this to the DVM or client. 
        

• We can typically schedule procedures within one to two weeks. We hope that this option will help expedite surgical care times for your patients!

 

• All other surgical or consultation services through our Advanced Surgery Practice are available to current Mission Animal Hospital patients. To establish care with Mission, clients should contact us at 952-938-1237 to make an appointment or come through our Urgent Care Service.
