$145,000 Gift Helps More Pets

At Mission Animal Hospital, every pet deserves access to high-quality medical care when they need it most. A transformative gift from Mary and Armand Brachman is expanding what's possible by bringing new medical technology, greater surgical capacity, and a fund created specifically for cats facing one of veterinary medicine's most urgent emergencies.


A lifelong love of animals

In 2018, Mary and Armand discovered a litter of five 6-week-old kittens on their property. After bringing the kittens to the vet, they quickly realized no one else was able to take them. Within a week, the kittens had stolen Armand’s heart and all five found a permanent home with the Brachmans.


Caring for their own pets over the years, they also witnessed the financial challenges many families face when unexpected veterinary emergencies arise.

Investing in advanced veterinary care

The Brachman gift has funded three pieces of advanced equipment that broaden what the medical team can offer:


  • Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) System - Serves as the foundation of Mission's new Rehabilitation and Recovery service.

  • CryoLab System - Expands treatment options through advanced, minimally invasive cryotherapy.

  • Additional Anesthesia Unit - Increases surgical capacity and supports patients requiring urgent or specialized care.


Giving blocked cats a second chance

In addition to supporting new medical equipment, the gift establishes the Mary and Armand Brachman Blocked Cat Second Chance Fund. This dedicated fund will help provide life-saving treatment for cats suffering from urinary blockages, a serious medical emergency that can become fatal if left untreated. For families facing financial hardship, the cost of emergency care can create heartbreaking decisions. The new fund is designed to reduce that burden and help ensure more cats receive the treatment they need.
