Volunteer Spotlight: Pat

Meet Pat! She's one of Mission Animal Hospital's hard working volunteers. Pat's hard work behind the scenes helps ensure that things run smoothly, and Mission can provide accessible veterinary care to as many pets as possible. We are so grateful for her dedication to Mission Animal Hospital. Learn more about Pat and why she generously gives her time to help pets in need!

Why do you volunteer with Mission Animal Hospital?

I strongly believe in the goal of MAH to provide affordable care to pet owners. It is heartbreaking to see people surrender a member of the family to a rescue or humane society and possible euthanasia simply because of cost.

What's your favorite volunteer task in the hospital?

Definitely not laundry.

Favorite would probably be when I am cleaning the lobby listening to pet owners tell me about their pets while they wait.

What do you do when you're not volunteering here?

Volunteer with Bitty Kitty Brigade TNR

Crafts, writing, collage

Home construction projects

Summer – gardening, volunteering at The Wildcat Sanctuary

Do you have any pets?

Of course, Currently have two 15 year old cats.

As a long term volunteer at Mission, what’s the most memorable moment in your time volunteering with?

The surgical team had just performed C-section on two dogs. Watching the determination of the team trying their best to save the very tiny puppies.
